About the Doctors

Dr. Jackstien grew up enjoying the Rocky Mountains of Salt Lake City, Utah. He attended college in Utah where he studied business and medical biology. He spent two years living in Guatemala serving his church and when he returned he graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Business Administration. Dr. Jackstien and his wife Jessica then moved to Philadelphia where he attended dental school at Temple University. Dr. Jackstien graduated Summa Cum Laude from Temple along with other awards and accolades.

Dr. Jackstien and his family moved to Columbus OH in order to attend The Ohio State University’s Oral and Maxillofacial Anesthesiology program. Currently, Dr. Jackstien is one of the lead anesthesiologists at CarePoint Anesthesia and also teaches Anesthesia and emergency management at the CU’s school of dental medicine. He also travels throughout the country to lecture on the topic of anesthesiology, most notably Harvard school of dental medicine. He has served on many dental anesthesia related boards and committees including the American Society of Dentist Anesthesiologists. He also serves as one of Colorado’s State Dental Anesthesia Permit inspectors.

Dr. Jackstien, his wife Jessica and their two young girls Everest and Hadley enjoy everything outdoors and the mountains of Colorado are their playgrounds. Dr. Jackstien and his family enjoy skiing, Mt Biking and spending time together exploring the great outdoors.

Dr. Smith grew up in the Reno Tahoe area of Nevada. He studied medical biology at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. After studying in Australia he completed his doctrine in dental medicine at the UNLV School of Dental Medicine. Upon graduation from dental school, Dr. Smith moved to Los Angeles where he completed a dental anesthesia residency at UCLA. Dr. Smith grew up snow boarding near Lake Tahoe was excited to be back in the mountains enjoying biking, camping and snowboarding. Dr. Smith is a board certified diplomate of the American Dental Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr. Taller grew up splitting her time between Northern New Jersey and Sunny San Diego. After falling in love with California, she decided to study at a university where she would see the ocean from the library, UC Santa Barbara. At UCSB she completed her BS in Environmental Studies.  Dr. Taller continued her studies in Arizona at the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health where she completed a dual DMD/MPH degree. Moving cross country once again she completed her GPR at St Barnabas Hospital in the Bronx, NY. At St Barnabas she found her 2 biggest loves… Dental Anesthesia and her husband! Dr. Taller continued at St Barnabas Hospital as chief resident of Dental Anesthesia. After 4 years in the Bronx, Dr. Taller was ready for a big change and brought her new husband out to Colorado for the adventure of a lifetime.

In her spare time Dr. Taller enjoys cooking, snowboarding, trying new things, traveling, and snuggling up on the couch reading (sometimes cheesy) novels. Dr. Taller can’t wait to experience all Colorado has to offer!

Dr. Jeff Nguyen grew up in Sunny Southern California and completed his undergraduate degree in Cellular Biology and Chemistry at the California State University, Fullerton. During his undergraduate studies, he was selected to be a California Institute of Regenerative Medicine Scholar and was funded for research project involving neural stem cells for spinal cord injury. Working closely with spinal cord injury patients sparked his interest in patient care. Upon graduation, Dr. Nguyen attended The University of Michigan, School of Dentistry where he continued his passion for research studying inflammatory biomarkers in Dr. Rogerio Castilho’s Epithelial Biology lab.

After completing his doctorate, Dr. Nguyen decided to pursue dental anesthesiology for its heavy focus on both science and patient care. He completed residency in Dental Anesthesiology at Stony Brook University where provided the full scope of anesthesia care for medical and dental procedures with a wide range of complexities.

Dr. Nguyen now proudly serves West Michigan providing anesthesia care in office-based settings to reduce the hospital burden and increase access to care in the region. In his spare time, Dr. Nguyen enjoys hiking and other forms of exercise that burn calories to allow him to be a foodie. He is also currently training for a future cave expedition that is planned next year!

Dr. Arnall was raised in the mountains of Northern Arizona which is a large part of who he is, it’s there that he gained a love for the outdoors and working with his hands. This love of nature inspired him to become a biology major at Northern Arizona University, which he then continued at East Tennessee State University after serving a two year church mission. At ETSU, he continued to work with his hands by pursuing a minor in jewelry and metalsmithing. This naturally evolved into an interest in dentistry which combined his love of biology and crafting with his hands.

During his time at ETSU he met and married his lovely wife Brandy and they started a family. He then attended the Case School of Dental Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio and graduated with honors. After graduation he worked as a dentist in the Verde Valley of Arizona, and eventually acquired a dental practice there. While in the Verde Valley he enjoyed his time serving his patients and living in the beauty of the surrounding mountains.

Dr. Arnall was introduced to IV sedation during his time practicing in Arizona and it became his next professional love. He noticed however that many patients with deeply rooted anxieties and those with complex special needs required a level of anesthesia beyond what he then could provide. This drove him to take his love of anesthesia farther than just IV sedation. He was accepted to New York University Langone-Brooklyn for a three year anesthesia residency. He moved his wife and four kids, to the Big Apple where he learned the skills to safely provide all types of anesthesia in both office based and hospital settings. There he enjoyed treating thousands of patients, many of which were children and those with complex special needs.

Dr. Arnall loves serving the good people of Michigan, and providing an increased access to care in our communities is one of his top priorities. To Dr. Arnall anesthesia is nothing less than providing profound comfort and mercy to those that need it most.

Dr. Aryana is a Colorado native who grew up right here in Denver, Colorado. She completed her
undergraduate education at the University of California- Berkeley and received her bachelor’s
degree in Integrative Biology. Dr. Aryana returned to Colorado where she attended dental
school at the University of Colorado- School of Dental Medicine where she graduated with
honors.

It was in dental school where Dr. Aryana first became interested in the field of dental
anesthesiology. She spent time shadowing with many of the CarePoint Anesthesia providers
during her dental school training. She attended The Ohio State University where she completed
her dental anesthesiology residency and received her master’s degree.
In her free time Dr. Aryana enjoys skiing and snowboarding, as well as hiking, traveling, cooking,
and reading. Dr. Aryana is excited to return back to Colorado and practice with CarePoint
Anesthesia, the group that helped shape her anesthesia career!

Dr. Nosek grew up in New England and obtained his undergraduate degree from Fitchburg State University in his home state of Massachusetts. Upon graduation he moved west where he completed his doctoral degree from Loma Linda University in Loma Linda, California. Upon graduation, he remained in California in general practice until his desire to help patients unable to receive dental care due to anxiety and medical complexity led him to New York City to pursue a specialty in dental anesthesia at NYU Langone Hospital. During his time there, Dr. Nosek provided anesthesia in a hospital setting for a variety of surgical procedures and specialties. As a result of growing up in New England, Dr. Nosek is an avid Boston sports fan and besides practicing anesthesia, Dr. Nosek enjoys spending his time traveling, camping, fishing, and working on cars. Dr. Nosek strives to provide excellent care in an honest, straightforward, and caring environment. His goal is to be gentle, thorough, and empathetic with everyone who comes in to the office. Dr. Nosek’s feels privileged to facilitate access to dental care for those that need it most.
